We named this knit „Austėja“ after the Baltic goddess of bees, deriving its name from the Lithuanian word „austi“‚ which means „to weave.“ Just as honeycombs are intricately woven by bees, our Austėja turtleneck showcases delicate knitwork that mirrors this artistry. Like the tireless weavers and diligent bees, this exquisite piece embodies dedication and elegance, connecting you to the rich tapestry of Baltic mythology. The knit is our take on what a modern day Austėja would wear.

For the knit, we handpicked only the coziest, cashmere-like 100% Merino wool, proudly certified as cruelty-free. No microplastics, no harmful chemicals—just pure, snug goodness. We source our Merino wool from Italy, where it’s spun and dyed in-house by our Italian suppliers.
For this knit we partnered up with a family-run knitwear factory in Šiauliai, a small town in Northern Lithuania. The owner of the factory is Mrs. Zina who founded the company over 30 years ago. Growing up she always dreamt of becoming an orchestra conductor, but running a factory as beautifully as she does might not be that far off. Today Mrs. Zina employs over 20 women from the local community who all refer to her as a mother figure. All her employees earn a living wage and are entitled to 4 weeks of annual paid leave, 24 months of paid maternity leave and paid sick leave. Each knit comes signed by a woman who made it.
