BEHIND THE NAME
Aeglewasthe daughter of Asclepiusand Epione, sister ofIaso, Hygieia, Panacea and Aceso.Her name is said to have derived from „Αἴγλη“ („Aegle“), meaning „Brightness,“ or „Splendor,“ from the beauty of the human body when in good health.
